Lead Burlington Northern BN 1392 GP15-1 DC DCC Sound
Description
Burlington Northern BN 1392 GP15-1 DC DCC Sound Walthers Mainline  910-19402  HO Scale.  This is one model that we are offering.  This is one locomotive that we are offering.  Although we do not see wear on the engine, we are offering it as used as it is from an estate.   The model works in DC with Sound.  The model also works in DCC (default factory address 3) and we can control the sound functions with our controller.     The model features micro pad printing and knuckle couplers.   All GP15 engines are technically GP15-1 types.  General Motors introduced the EMD GP15-1 as a AAR B-B 4-axle switcher diesel-electric locomotive and were built between June 1976 and March 1982. These locomotives were part of a rebuilding programs that many railroads were applying to their early road switchers.  The locomotives used recycled parts.  The EMD GP15-1 locomotive featured a 12-cylinder EMD 645E diesel prime mover rated at 1,500 hp.  With a length of 50-foot-9-inch frame, these locos had a wheelbase of 29 ft 9 in and has a length over couplers of 54 ft 11 in. These hybrid rebuilts (new powered chasses)  required the roads to trade in older GP9 types where the trucks and traction motors were recycled as the new engines rested on older trucks. A total of 310 units were built for American railroads. A number of GP15-1s remain in service today for yard work and light road duty. The radiator section is similar to those found on the EMD SD40T-2 and EMD SD45T-2 "tunnel motors," leading some observers to incorrectly identify the units as such or as GP15Ts, and giving them the nickname "baby tunnel motors".  The model comes with the original box and insert. The flap at the end of box has tears.
